NARTO pledges support for NDLEA’s f!ght against drüg traff!cking

The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has pledged to support the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in curbing the use of trucks and passenger vehicles for trafficking illicit drugs across the country.

The commitment was made on Thursday, July 24, during a courtesy visit by the National President of NARTO, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal Othman, and other senior union leaders to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Mohamed Buba Marwa, at the agency’s national headquarters in Abuja.

Othman praised Marwa’s leadership, describing him as courageous, visionary, and patriotic.

He emphasised that the visit was more than ceremonial, saying:

“It is purposeful and timely. It reflects our deep appreciation of NDLEA’s efforts and our readiness as a key stakeholder in the road transport sector to align with your mission.”

The collaboration is expected to bolster ongoing efforts by the NDLEA to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse nationwide, particularly through increased surveillance and accountability within the transport sector.
