Napoli Hitman, Victor Osimhen Strikes Another Goal Against Lecce

Victor Osimhen has certainly found his scoring touch once more, as he contributed to Napoli’s convincing 4-0 triumph against Lecce earlier today.

This marks his second consecutive game with a goal, following a somewhat challenging period.

The turnaround in Osimhen’s performance is notable, particularly after Napoli’s official TikTok page featured two videos poking fun at the 24-year-old Nigerian striker for missing a penalty against Bologna on Sunday, September 24. Since then, Osimhen has managed to net two goals in two successive matches.

Notably, before last week’s Sunday, the Nigerian international endured a four-game goal drought in all competitions, which was a stark contrast to his prolific form during the 2022-2023 season.

Recall that in the previous season, Osimhen was instrumental in Napoli’s success, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in 32 games, ultimately helping the club secure the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

Osimhen kicked off the current season with promise, netting three goals in his first two league games.

However, this streak was interrupted by a series of less impressive performances, causing doubts to arise about his goal-scoring abilities, even among Napoli’s own fans.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old striker appears to have risen to the challenge, responding emphatically with goals in the last two matches.

As a reminder, Osimhen scored a goal in Napoli’s 4-1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday, September 27.

In today’s game against Lecce, coach Rudi Garcia opted to start Osimhen from the bench, making his appearance in the 46th minute after a first half that ended with Napoli holding a narrow 1-0 lead.

Osimhen managed to secure the second goal for Napoli in the 51st minute.

He also had the opportunity to score from a penalty kick but chose to let Gianluca Gaetano take it, resulting in another goal that sealed the victory.

With this commanding 4-0 win, Napoli has climbed back into the top four, amassing 16 points in seven games, including four wins, two draws, and one defeat…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
