In the foreign currency market, the Naira fell vs the US dollar for the first time since Thursday of last week, following the Central Bank of Nigeria’s new guidelines to Bureaux De Change Operators.
According to FMDQ statistics, the value of a dollar fell from N1462.59 on Wednesday to N1485.66 on Thursday.
This indicates a N23.07 loss from the N1462.59 it traded the day before.
In the parallel market segment, the Naira lost value on Thursday, falling from N1450 on Wednesday to N1460 per US dollar.
As a result, this is the first decline since the Naira lost N73 versus the US dollar seven days ago.
This incident occurs just 24 hours after the Nigerian Central Bank ordered Bureau De Change businesses to reapply for licenses. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
