Three unregistered bakeries and a sachet water plant in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have been shut down by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
The establishments were shut down because they were using improvised buildings with subpar sanitation, endangering the health of their patrons.
The agency revealed this on Tuesday, May 7, posting on its X handle: “Three unregistered bakeries and a sachet water factory in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have been closed by NAFDAC.”
“These facilities, operating in makeshift structures with poor hygiene standards, posed serious health risks to consumers.
“The unregistered bakeries, located in Rmuoparali and Mgbuoba areas, were found to be operating in unsanitary conditions, including the use of a lister generator inside the production room.
“The State Coordinator of Rivers State, Pharm. Onogwu urged the public to continue providing valuable information to NAFDAC, facilitating the Agency’s efforts to ensure the safety and quality of regulated products.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
