MI Abaga the Popular Nigerian rapper, has disclosed that he’s request to meet the American Rapper, Rick Ross was turned down.
The American rapper, Rick Ross is presently in Nigeria for an Easter concert tagged; ‘Rick Ross Live In Lagos’ and since his arrival in the country, he has been meeting with great sessions of Nigerian celebrities.
The ‘One Naira’ crooner, MI Abaga stated that he got an invitation to meet the Maybach music boss, Rick Ross and asked if they could meet in private but his request got declined.
MI Abaga taking to his Twitter handle noted that the Afrobeat industry would not respect Hip Hop in Nigeria due to some complicated reasons.
Which he said also said every single time he gave them music he never cheated them. Also reveals that since 2017 he had requested for a feature with the maybach boss but hasn’t gotten a response yet
The singer tweeted; ”Lastly .. I was invited to meet Rick Ross.. I responded by saying if I could do it one on one. Ofcourse they declined.. the afrobeats industry will not respect Hiphop just because.. that’s fine. Let’s accept it as what it is and make GREAT MUSIC FOR THE ONES who do care.
That’s how I created the wave the first time!!! Every single time I gave them music I never cheated them.. I made classic after classic and am relentless still.. the guy is my best album yet coming soon! Classic.. give your best and the music will grow!” He said
