Ayodeji Balogun, a Nigerian music star popularly known as Wizkid, has apologised to his fans in Ghana for not showing up at a concert he was billed to perform in Accra.
The concert was expected to hold at the Accra Sports Stadium during the weekend, Saturday but the singer failed to show up.
This later elicited a lot of negative reactions from his fans where they supposed the singer ‘hushpappied’ the Ghanaians.
However, wizkid on Sunday via his Twitter handle apologised for his failure to show up at the concert. In his tweet the singer noted that there were issues with production and safety.
“My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologise to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was Charged up, looking forward to doing this show.
“However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honouring my fans, and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do.” Part of the statement reads partly.
The Afrobeat Star also added that a new date and details for the concert would be communicated soon.
