Moment Herdsmen Wrote To Community, Ask Occupants To Leave Their Fathers House

The Occupants of Guma community of the Benue state in panic as suspected gunmen known to be Fulani herdsmen sent a threat letter to the resident for immediate vacation from their ancestral homes and father houses or face serious consequence.

Recall that Some of the communities, Tse Ahentse, Iye and Udei, were attacked on Tuesday and Thursday which brought about the demise of 13 individuals in the community.

It was gathered that the gunmen known to be suspected herdsmen on Wednesday sent hireling and fitted out threats to the occupants in Torkula Village in the same Guma LGA to dismiss the community or face severe consequences.

Torkula area of the community is said to be the ancestral home of the paramount ruler of Tiv nation, HRM Alfred Akawe Torkula of his blessed memory.

However, Nathaniel Ikyur, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom, authenticate the threat from the herdsmen in a statement released while reacting to Thursday’s attack.

“Eyewitness account said the Fulani terrorists who had earlier issued a threat to the Tse Torkula community, asking them to leave the village or face dire consequences, came on motorcycles and without any herd of cattle,” spokesperson to the state governor said

He added that “Torkula is the ancestral home of the late Tor Tiv IV, HRM Alfred Akawe Torkula,”
