Omowunmi, widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, has accused his father, Joseph Aloba, of stalling a court-ordered DNA test to confirm the paternity of her son, Liam.
The dispute escalated after Aloba allegedly rejected medical facilities proposed by Omowunmi’s legal team, Salawu Akingbolu Chambers.
A letter dated 9th of January 2025, from Omowunmi’s lawyers revealed disagreements over the choice of hospitals.
While Omowunmi objected to Aloba’s proposed UCH Ibadan, Aloba rejected her preference for Lagoon Hospitals. In response, Omowunmi suggested Eko Hospital and Reddington Hospital but claimed Aloba failed to reply.
The dispute began after an Ikorodu Magistrates Court directed both parties to resolve the matter through a mutually agreed DNA test under supervision. Frustrated by the delays, Omowunmi threatened to proceed independently if no progress was made. She also accused Aloba of defaming her son on social media by labeling him a “b+stard.”
“We deserve an apology for these unfounded allegations,” Omowunmi’s letter added, denouncing claims made by Aloba’s lawyer, Mr. Taiwo Odumosu, that she was unwilling to cooperate.
In a January 11, 2025, response, Aloba’s former legal team, Hillceetee Partners, denied any misrepresentation, clarifying that Odumosu’s comments were misinterpreted.
“At no point did Mr. Odumosu imply that your client was unwilling to conduct the DNA test,” the letter read.
Despite expressing respect for Omowunmi’s legal team, Hillceetee Partners announced their withdrawal from representing Aloba in the case.
The dispute remains unresolved. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
