Senator Daniel Bwala, the Former Nigerian lawmaker, has suggested that the minimum wage should be around N250,000.
Bwala gave the suggestion on Monday, 3rd of June, 2024 while fielding questions on TVC News programme monitored by our Freshreporters Media correspondent.
The statement is coming amid ongoing industrial action embarked upon by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, over failure to reach agreement with the federal government on national minimum wage.
Senator Bwala said,
“In terms of being realistic to food inflation and cost of living in Nigeria generally, N60,000 is nowhere. Even the federal government is not denying that. I don’t think anybody in his right sense will say what the Labour Union is asking is nonsensical. No. It’s deserving but not realistic.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
