Minimum Wage: Organized Labour insists on N250,000

The organized Labour Unions have postponed negotiations between the Federal Government on the minimum wage as they insist on N250,000 as minimum wage.

The meeting, held at the State House, concluded after briefings from Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and NNPC GMD, Mele Kyari.

President Bola Tinubu, who led the government delegation, urged the labour unions to accept the proposed N62,000 as an initial step towards addressing the minimum wage issue suggesting that additional adjustments could be considered following a review of the minimum wage law.

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero during the meeting said:
