Sholabomi Richard, the wife of Ayotunde Richard, a well-known gospel singer, has raised serious concerns over her husband’s recent arrest and detention by the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Lagos State.
According to Sholabomi, the arrest was unwarranted and a result of revisiting an already settled issue.
The incident took place on Tuesday night when a group of policemen reportedly arrived at the couple’s residence in Eagle Estate, Magboro, Ogun State. They claimed to have come to arrest Ayotunde Richard based on a petition filed by one Opeyemi Emmanuel against him.
However, Sholabomi contended that the issues raised in the petition had already been resolved at the highest level prior to the arrest.
Taking to her Facebook page, Sholabomi addressed her husband’s followers and expressed her disbelief at the police’s actions. She accused the police of acting on the petition without considering its resolution in the past.
The petition, she explained, was initially filed as a result of Ayotunde Richard’s suspension and later resignation from the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM), where he served as the right-hand singer of Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer.
Sholabomi further alleged that the petition contained false charges, including cyberbullying, threats against a minor, and defamation of civil servants. She maintained that these allegations were lies and were already settled at the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) by the Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Opeyemi Emmanuel, the person who lodged the petition, refuted Sholabomi’s claims, stating that the accusations made against Ayotunde Richard were genuine and not fabricated.
She called for government intervention, expressing concern about her safety and that of her family due to the escalated tension.
The Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM) distanced itself from the matter, with their spokesperson stating that the church was not involved and had nothing to say about the ongoing controversies. [WATCH VIDEO HERE] >>>
