In a recent conversation with veteran media personality Daddy Freeze, popular Nigerian singer and producer Samuel Oguachuba, known as Samklef, stirred up controversy by claiming that men are inherently predisposed to cheat on their spouses.
The artist, famous for his hit song “Molowo Noni,” expressed his opinion that Nigerians tend to be overly emotional when it comes to discussing infidelity, emphasizing that cheating is a normal behavior for men, including religious leaders.
Samklef supported his assertion by pointing to examples from the Bible, such as Abraham, David, and Solomon, who were known to have engaged in polygamous relationships.
According to the singer, Nigerians should refrain from idealizing the lives of others and instead allow people to be themselves. He argued that cheating is a natural trait ingrained in human nature, claiming that even pastors and imams are not exempt from this inclination.
This statement has sparked a heated debate among fans, with many expressing opposing views on the matter. Some argue that fidelity should be valued and that blanket statements about cheating being inherent to men are unfair and perpetuate harmful stereotypes. Others agree with Samklef, highlighting historical and cultural contexts that have influenced societal attitudes towards monogamy and relationships.
