Man suspected to be mentally shaky was arrested by police operatives in Lagos State for stealing a baby in the hospital.
It was gathered that the suspect known to be Olamilekan Adeoye ,dressed in a nurse uniform at the Maternal and Child Hospital in Gbaja, Surulere Local Government Area of Lagos state.
A statement released by one of the hospital workers said that suspect Was able to gain access into the second floor of the health facility which inhabited the maternity ward, pregnant women, and babies.
“He came in and pounce on food and beverages for patients before he was noticed and arrested,” the eyewitness said.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Adekunle Ajisebutu, also testified to the incident, affirming that initial investigation shows that the suspect is mentally shaky.
Adekunle Ajisebutu also explained that the suspect has been referred to the police hospital and has now been transferred to the psychiatric hospital at Yaba for further investigation.
The police spokesman stated that the parents of the suspect who lives in the Fadeyi area of the state also was contacted and have confirmed that the suspect is not in a stable mental state.
According to the police spokesman, an investigation is on to find out the mental status of the suspect.
