Man, John Rugala Commits Su!cide After Wife Refuses To Cook Chicken

In a shocking incident in Uriri, Migori County, a man tragically took his own life following an argument with his wife over cooking chicken. The local police are currently investigating the incident, which has left the community in shock.

According to Nyaobe Assistant Chief John Atonya, the 45-year-old man, identified as John Rugala, locked himself inside their home and set it ablaze. It is reported that the dispute erupted when his wife refused to prepare chicken for him, a delicacy he desired.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the wife declined to cook the chicken as it belonged to their daughter. She advised Rugala to seek permission from their daughter before consuming the flightless bird. This suggestion apparently triggered his protest.

Following the argument, Rugala allegedly sent his wife away from the house before taking the drastic step of ending his life. Despite the efforts of bystanders who rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames, they were unable to save him.

Assistant Chief Atonya expressed his condolences to the family and revealed that the deceased’s body has been transported to the Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
