Jack Grealish, Manchester City and England player, confirmed speeding in his £100,000 Range Rover and was punished by magistrates today.
In July of last year, a mobile camera recorded the Birmingham-born midfield player traveling at 44 mph in a 30 mph zone in Wythall, Worcestershire.
Though his attorney submitted a guilty plea on his behalf, he did not show up in person in Worcester magistrates’ court this morning.
Grealish was further accused of withholding information on the driver’s identity. However, when he entered a guilty plea to the speeding charge, the prosecution requested that the matter be dropped.
John Dye, the 28-year-old’s attorney, stated that he had been “told to apologize” on Grealish’s behalf.
JPs gave the player five penalty points and a £666 fine. In addition, he was mandated to pay £266 in victim surcharge and £110 in prosecution costs, for a total fine of £1,042.
In 2020, Grealish was fined £82,499 and banned from driving for nine months for two incidents of irresponsible driving. During the nationwide Covid shutdown in the UK, the first offense was committed.
