Man Arrested After Co-Worker D!es During Fight With Him

James Isma’il, 32, has been taken into custody by the Kano State Police Command on charges of culpable homicide in the state’s Gwale Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Sunday, January 21, 2024, the command’s spokeswoman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, reported that James Ismail and Tukur Adamu, who are both employees of a company at Sharada Ja’in Quarters, got into a brawl.

Tukur Adamu was knocked out during the fight and taken to the hospital, where a physician pronounced him dead.

Thirteen thugs were also detained, according to the PPRO, for trying to set the company on fire and stealing people’s belongings.

Police stated:

“On the 21st January 2024, at about 08:30am, a distress call was received through the Command’s emergency number; 08032419754 that fighting erupted between two staff of Fas Agro Sacks Company located at Sharada Ja’in Quarters Kano which led to the death of one Tukur Adamu, 32 years old, ‘m’, of Dango Sharada Ja’in Quarters Kano,” the statement read.

“As a result of the incident, thugs mobilized in large numbers, took advantage of the situation, started looting people’s properties and attempted to set the Company ablaze.

“On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc ordered the immediate deployment of Police Operatives led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Sharada Division, SP Abdulrahim Adamu to the scene.

“On arrival at the scene, Adamu was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano where a medical doctor certified him dead, whereas the suspect, James Isma’il, aged 32 years, ‘m’, was arrested. Similarly, thirteen (13) of the thugs were so far arrested.

“The situation was immediately brought under control and the suspects were transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section for discrete investigation

“The Commissioner of Police assures the residents of diligent investigation, and prosecution and also calls on the good people of the State to avoid taking laws into their hands.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
