Man accuses police station of converting his st0len vehicle to patrol van in Delta

A Delta resident, Ogboro Matthew, has alleged his car stolen in 2015 had been converted into a police patrol vehicle in Delta State.

According to him, the incident happened in November 2015 after a church programme in Jakpa road Warri, after which he discovered his vehicle had been moved from where he packed it.

Matthew in a bid to recover his stolen vehicle allegedly contacted the Ekpan Police Division in Delta State, who at the time couldn’t proffer a solution.

He however claimed to be shocked two years later as he discovered the car had been repainted and used as an official police vehicle by the same police station where he had earlier filed his complaint.

In a video making waves online, Matthew was heard saying:

“My name is Ogboro Mathew, I’m a citizen of Nigeria, I live in Delta state, Warri here. The vehicle in this is photo is mine, I went for a church program in jakpa road on the 13th day of November,2015, and after the close of the program, I didn’t see my car again.

“After looking for it, I went to the Ekpan police station to report and was told to bring a stolen vehicle paper, which I paid for and distributed at the entire place. “

“After two years in 2017, I discovered the same vehicle with the same Ekpan Police Division , and converted it to their own use. The wrote Jakpa raiders on it.

“I was advised to go to court, and on the 19th day of July 2018, the High Court fined them N10m to pay me. While waiting for them to pay,they have appealed against the judgement.

“I don’t know what the appeal is about, I don’t have any helper, nobody to help me. I’ve been using the vehicle to manage my life, and I don’t know what to do.”
