The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has extended gratitude to the people of Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa for the warm hospitality shown to him during his recent visit to the three countries.
In a message shared on his official X handle on Saturday, Khan described his experience as deeply moving and inspiring.
Khan said the trip was focused on strengthening ties between London and major African cities, particularly in areas of trade, investment, and innovation.
He wrote on X:
“A heartfelt thank you to the people of Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa for the incredibly warm welcome during my recent visit 🇳🇬🇬đź‡đź‡żđź‡¦
“I’m excited to keep building stronger partnerships between London and African cities, to boost trade, investment, and shared opportunity.”
The trade mission was organised in partnership with London & Partners, the city’s business growth agency, led by Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth, Howard Dawber.
The trip marked the first official visit to sub-Saharan Africa by a sitting Mayor of London, signaling a renewed commitment to fostering long-term collaborations across business, technology, and cultural sectors.
