Doyin Okupe, the former presidential aide, has called on the Federal Government to allow Governors decide how much they can afford to pay workers as minimum wage in their respective states.
He said this during an interview with the newsmen shared on Saturday, 8th of June, 2024.
He said:
“We keep doing something wrong in this country. We should not make laws that is all encompassing that will make it compulsory for all Governors in the federation to obey them.
“They are sub-nationalities on their own. For instance, if you pay a minimum wage in Lagos, why should I pay that same amount in Yobe, or Sokoto.
“Let every Governor decide for his own state by his own people, that ‘this is what we can afford’.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
