In a heartbreaking turn of events, the music world mourns the loss of Sinead O’Connor, the iconic Irish singer, who was found ‘unresponsive’ at a residence in south-east London. Police confirmed the devastating news today, as the 56-year-old artist was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when a call was placed at 11:18hrs on Wednesday, 26 July, reporting an unresponsive woman in the SE24 area. Responding officers rushed to the location, only to discover the lifeless body of the renowned singer-songwriter.

The Metropolitan Police promptly notified her next of kin about the tragic incident. Thankfully, the police have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. As a result, the case will not be treated as a criminal investigation.

Sinead O’Connor had recently returned to London at the beginning of July, expressing her love for the city and calling it her ‘home.’ Despite her sudden passing, she had been looking forward to enjoying various activities, including watching ballet performances and working on new musical creations.
