Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, the Late politician, popularly known as Mama Taraba, has become a trendy topic on social media, especially on Twitter platform following the win of Senator Aishatu Binani, at the All Progressives Congress governorship primary in Adamawa State.
Senator Binani of the APC party, representing Adamawa Central in victory whisks the former boss of the, EFCC, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribad and in line with whisking off the former governor, Jibrilla Bindow, to emerge the winner of the race in the state.
Coming back to the late Mama Taraba of a blessed memory was a minister and also governorship candidate in Taraba State, her home state. But contested under the platform of the United People Democratic Party, UPDP after she was disqualified from the All Progressives Congress, APC primary election in the 2019 election.
Making reference to Mama Taraba, Before then, she was the APC governorship aspirant in the general election of 2015 after she came second in process.
However, Tweeps reacting to Binani’s victory in Adamawa state has expressed excitement over her feminine gender.
Ibrahim PhD tweeted, “Nigeria is full of paradoxes, the NE is the most backward region and the only region to produce 2 women as major party ticket holders! The late Mama Taraba and the Hon Binani! All of former Gongola!!”
Another Tweep said Setofunmi Alo , “I pray Sen Aishat Dahiru wins the Adamawa governorship seat next year. She will be the first elected female governor. The victory will be more exciting as this will be coming from the North. The closest female candidate to become a governor was Mama Taraba, also from the North.”
Adding Mavis Ikpeme hailed the senator’s victory, stressing, “A female governor in a core northern state. Gender equality finally suppressing religious bias is indeed a welcome development. Mama Taraba!! Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, we see your doings !! 😊”
Enetomhe Stephen stated, “The North is the one giving us politically strong women as party candidates, they don’t beg for it but fight to get the ticket. Later(sic) Mama Taraba and now Senator Aisha in Adamawa. May God let her win.”
