The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed off a public toilet facility on Kakawa Street, Lagos Island, over hazardous sanitary conditions and the illegal discharge of untreated wastewater into public drains.
This enforcement act was carried out on Sunday, 6th of April 2025 following the discovery of the unsafe facility and the illegal disposal of wastewater.
In a post on X, formerly known as twitter, the Minister of Environment and Water Resources Lagos State, Tokunbo Wahab, described the act as an environmental nuisance, degradation and threat to humans life and health.
This was made known via a post on the X handle of the Minister of Environment and Water Resources on Sunday, April 6.
The caption reads:
