Men of the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce have arrested a total of 44 suspects during their clean-up enforcement operation on Lagos Island.
The arrested suspects include 43 males and one female.
According to a post on the X page of the Lagos State Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the arrest was conducted during a raid in the wee hours of Thursday, May 1.
Wahab’s post reads:
“In continuation of the agency’s clean up enforcement operation to rid the State of criminal elements, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce team set out at about 2a.m during the wee hours on Thursday, 1st May, 2025 and embarked on its clean up enforcement operation on Lagos Island.
“The areas visited during the operation include: Falomo Bridge, Oyin Jolayemi, Eko Hotel roundabout, Ligali Ayorinde, Oniru Beach and 1004 areas where the presence of some undesirable elements was noticed.
“During the raid exercise, a total number of 43 male and 1 female suspects were arrested, and sanity was restored in all the areas.
