Lagos Speaker Tasks Residents On Peaceful Conduct Ahead Of Governorship Poll

Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, has appealed to residents of Lagos to conduct themselves peacefully during Saturday’s governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the state.

Obasa made the appeal in a statement issued out and made available to newsmen in Lagos on Friday.

The speaker called on the youths not to engage in thuggery, electoral violence or any other act that could undermine the peace of the nation.

According to him, “Our youths should not engage in anything that will disrupt the peace and tranquillity of the nation. They should conduct themselves honourably, during and after elections.”

The speaker also urged parents and guardians to advise their wards and children not to foment trouble during the election that commences today 18th of March, 2023.

He went further to appeal to Nigerians not to allow their political differences to cause any form of violence or other problems capable of throwing the country into chaos.

Obasa stated that the presidential and national assembly elections that was recently held were adjudged peaceful and credible, enjoining residents to ensure a repeat during Saturday’s election.
