The Lagos State Police Command is actively searching for a businessman named Amarah Kennedy, who stands accused of circulating explicit photos of two widows he had dated and engaged in sexual relations with.
According to reports from Punch, the widows, who were seeking love, had connected with the accused through various WhatsApp and Facebook singles chat groups at different times, eventually forming relationships with him.
However, trouble began when their relationships soured, leading Kennedy to allegedly distribute their n*de images to their relatives, colleagues, friends, and even the church WhatsApp group of one of the victims, identified as Kester.
The suspect is believed to have also sent the compromising photos to the deceased husband’s family members and office.
Disturbingly, Kennedy reportedly declared, “By the time I am done, suicide will be her only option.” Kester, who lost her husband eight years ago in a car accident, revealed that the businessman showered her with monetary gifts after initiating contact.
However, following a disagreement, Kennedy allegedly sent her over 50 n*de photos that he had secretly taken during their encounters in a hotel room. He then demanded a sum of N100,000 from her in exchange for deleting the explicit images.
Distressed and feeling trapped, Kester complied and sent the money, but Kennedy proceeded to ask for an additional N40,000 to permanently delete the photos.
Although she fulfilled his demand, the suspect shamelessly proceeded to circulate the compromising images on Facebook. Overwhelmed by the situation, Kester attempted suicide twice but was unsuccessful. Those who had seen the photos began to question her, exacerbating her distress.
The second victim, identified as Temi, shared a similar ordeal, stating that Kennedy frequently engaged in prolonged sexual encounters with her at hotels while under the influence of drugs.
After she terminated their relationship upon discovering his lack of seriousness, the suspect retaliated by sending her multiple n*de photos and demanding reimbursement for all the expenses he had incurred during their time together.
Temi borrowed N15,000 to fulfill his demand but sought assistance from his sister on Facebook. In response, Kennedy resorted to circulating the explicit photos. Moreover, he repeatedly called Temi, demanding money from her.
In an emotional interview, Kester expressed gratitude for the support she received from her late husband’s family. They encouraged her to report the incident to the police and vowed to fight for justice on her behalf. She tearfully revealed her decision to enter a relationship with a “beast” and thanked her in-laws for standing by her side, emphasizing their determination to support her in the battle against Kennedy.
When contacted, the suspect acknowledged his awareness of the police pursuit, prompting him to install an anti-tracking application on his phone.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has taken personal interest in the case and assured the widows that justice will be served. The authorities are committed to apprehending Amarah Kennedy and bringing him to account for his alleged actions, offering hope for the widows who have endured great suffering and humiliation.
