The Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed a restaurant, Ile Iyan, located on Herbert Macaulay Way in Sabo Yaba area for alleged non-compliance with waste disposal regulations.
The agency revealed that during their investigation, they found invoices and food waste linked to Ile Iyan at an illegal dumpsite.
They also noted that despite the establishment’s assertion of being registered with LAWMA, no supporting evidence was provided to verify this claim.
Ile Iyan has been mandated to formally register with LAWMA and comply with established waste management regulations.
