The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has sealed a building where residents were caught disposing trash in floodwater in Ijesha community in the Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area.
This was conveyed in a statement shared by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Wednesday, 3rd of July, 2024.
Earlier, an image shared on X by one #Adetutuadeoye3, claimed some people threw their dirt in the flood water.
She wrote:
“These people just poured out their waste in the flood water. This is no 2 Akewukewe Street beside Ikate Local Government in Ijesha Surulere.”
Replying, Wahab wrote: “Thank you for bringing it to our attention. #muyiwag #lawma_gov, please take note.”
In another tweet, the commissioner, wrote: “The house has been identified and locked immediately by the Environmental Health Service Department of Itire-Ikate LCDA.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
