In a proactive effort to tackle environmental issues and prevent flooding, The Lagos State Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, along with a team from the Ministry, led a one-on-one advocacy campaign with traders in Oyingbo, Victoria Island, and other parts of the State.
The campaign focused on urging traders to stop displaying goods on drainage channels to avoid blocking them, which contributes to flooding.
Wahab however, reiterated that after the campaign, strict enforcement measures will be implemented to ensure compliance and promote a cleaner and safer Lagos.
This was made known via a video shared on the Commissioner’s X handle on Tuesday, 25th of February 2025.
The caption reads:
“In a proactive move to address environmental concerns and prevent flooding, this morning, I led the team from the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to a one-on-one advocacy campaign with traders in Oyingbo, Victoria Island and other parts of Lagos, urging the traders to stop displaying goods on drainage channels so as to discourage blockage of the channels.
“This will be followed by strict enforcements to ensure compliance.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
