Lagos state Commuters and motorists in are currently experiencing a traffic diversion on the Gbagada-Oworonshoki Expressway, which started early hour on Saturday, 25th of May, 2024 and is expected to last until Sunday evening.
Freshreporters media had noted this through Images making rounds on social media platforms. It was revealed that a section of the road has been blocked and is being manned by security officials.
The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Bolanle Ogunlola, on Friday, announced the diversion due to an “exigent situation,” without specifying the exact nature.
The statement read,
“The Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted along the Gbagada-Oworonshoki Expressway, from Alapere-Ogudu-Car Wash and Iyana Oworo inward Anthony/Oshodi from 6am tomorrow, Saturday, May 25 till Sunday evening, May 26, 2024 due to exigent situation.
