The Lagos State Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended his greetings to Muslims in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid el-Maulud, urging reflection on the values of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
In a statement via his X page, on Friday, 5th of September 2025, Sanwo-Olu described the Prophet’s life of kindness, compassion, and integrity as a model for peaceful coexistence and societal progress.
The statement reads:
“As we celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), I send my heartfelt greetings to all Muslims in Lagos and across Nigeria.
“Let us reflect on his life of kindness, compassion, and integrity, and let those values guide us daily. I pray for peace, unity, and progress in our State and country.
“Eid el-Maulud to you and your families.”
