Following the suspension of the ongoing strike called by the national leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, the state leadership of the unions have in compliance reopened the Oyo state government Secretariat.
The leaders had earlier blocked the entrance gates and even enforced the sit-at-home directive by going round the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies to chased out workers who reported for duty, succeeded in grounding all activities within the state Secretariat.
The Nigeria Labour Congress suspended the strike for five days with immediate effect.
On Friday, 31st of May, 2024, organised labour announced that they would be commencing a nationwide indefinite strike due to the refusal of the Federal Government to increase the proposed minimum wage from N60,000. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>
