La Liga has formally confirmed that it has hired a lip-reader to look into Jude Bellingham’s recent remark against Mason Greenwood.
The league released a statement in reaction to a grievance brought up by Getafe, which claimed that Bellingham had called Greenwood a “r*pist” in a previous game.
Bellingham may face harsh repercussions if RFEF established that he made the alleged offensive comment.
According to sources, a player who is found guilty of using offensive language during a La Liga match may be banned for up to eight months from the competition.
Sports journalist, Jose Felix Diaz, says, though La Liga does not have the ability to sanction a player and what happens on the field of play stays at the field, Greenwood does not want to create any ‘fuss’ regarding what Bellingham potentially said.
