Kogi Central submits Senator Natasha’s recall letter to INEC

Some constituents from Kogi Central have formally petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the district in the Senate.

Under the law, for a federal lawmaker to be recalled, a petition must be submitted to INEC’s chairman, bearing the signatures of over 50% of registered voters in the constituency. The petition is followed by a verification process and a referendum.

The law mandates that the entire recall process must be completed within 90 days from the date the petition is received by INEC.
