The Kano state Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed a bill into law creating three new emirates to be overseen by Second Class Emirs.
Yusuf gave consent to the creation of Gaya, Rano, and Karaye as Second Class Emirates within Kano state, after it was passed into law by the state House of Assembly.
The Governor disclosed this in a post he shared on his X page on Tuesday, 16th of July, 2024.
He wrote:
“At 17:26 today, I assented to the Kano State Emirates Council Bill 2024, which was passed by the State Assembly, earlier this day.
“This approval allows for the establishment of three second-class emirates of Rano, Karaye and Gaya.
“The Gaya emirate will include Gaya, Albasu, and Ajingi local government areas, while the Karaye emirate will cover Karaye and Rogo local government areas, and Rano is made up of Rano, Kibiya and Bukure local government areas.
“The second-class emirs of these emirates will be answerable to the Emir of Kano, and they will possess the authority to counsel the Emir on matters concerning public order, territorial disputes, communal conflicts, and religious affairs within their respective domains.
“I congratulate the newly established emirates, and I urge them to diligently serve humanity, as the state government will reveal the names of the new Emirs soon.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
