The Kaduna State Police Command has announced a total restriction of movement in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru local government areas ahead of Saturday’s bye-elections.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, said in a statement on Friday that the restriction will commence from midnight on Saturday, 16th of August 2025.
He explained that the measure forms part of heightened security arrangements aimed at ensuring public safety, preventing any breach of peace, and guaranteeing an orderly electoral process.
Hassan noted that only personnel on essential duties and those assigned valid election responsibilities would be exempted.
He urged residents to cooperate fully with security agencies and maintain peace during the exercise to ensure a smooth and hitch-free election.
