Salisu Zakar, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry is dead.
The 60 years old commissioner died at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano State after a brief illness.
His death was confirmed on Friday, 5th of August, 2022 by an aide to Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa State governor, on his social media (Facebook) page.
Sankara said, “It is with a heavy heart that we announced the death of one of the members of the Jigawa State Executive Council, Alhaji Salisu Zakar, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry.
“Until his death, Alhaji Salisu Zakar served Jigawa State in different capacities. From civil service he rose to be appointed as the State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) chairman, and later the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry.”
