The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released further evidence to support its allegations of forgery against Mmesoma Ejikeme, a candidate from Anambra State.
In a recent development, JAMB unveiled an authentic result slip, confirming that Ejikeme’s actual score for the 2023 UTME was 249, not the 362 she had been claiming.
Ejikeme had been paraded as the top scorer of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. However, JAMB’s newly released documents have exposed the discrepancy in her claims.
The board’s decision to bar Ejikeme for three years over the alleged forgery of her UTME results was initially reported earlier.
Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, emphasized in a statement that Ejikeme was the only candidate who presented an “obsolete” notification slip among all the candidates who took the 2023 UTME.
The Board clarified that Ejikeme falsified a copy of the result slip belonging to another candidate, Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle, who sat for the UTME in 2021 and scored 138.
Benjamin further pointed out that the candidate inadvertently revealed the true owner of the result she was parading when she mentioned that the QR code on the result slip indicated the actual owner.
JAMB urged the general public to scan the QR code on the result slip to verify its original owner before it was manipulated. The QR code contains the UTME result of each candidate, ensuring that the information on the result sheet corresponds accurately.
With the release of this evidence, JAMB seeks to reaffirm that its system remained secure and uncompromised throughout the examination process. The board aims to shed light on Ejikeme’s false claims and uphold the integrity of the UTME results.
