IWD2023: ‘Embracing Equity’ – Gov Okowa Celebrates Delta Women

The Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has celebrated the state women on International Women’s Day.

As one of the key role, the state governor noted that it is accelerated to gender parity, inclusion and gender-mainstreaming. According to Okowa, the women of the state has brought positive improvements and impact to the state and it is expected their celebrated.

Today, 8th of March, 2023 is celebrated across the globe as the women’s day. The Delta State Governor while commemorating the day shared lovely moments on Wednesday.

The state Governor was thrilled to join the global celebration as an amazing father and leader in Nigeria.
In a statement shared, he revealed that this year will focus on the theme “Embrace Equity” to appreciate the uniqueness, attributes and contributions of women.

He said, “As a husband to an amazing wife, a #GirlDad, and a leader who has dedicated their public service career to empowering women and girls, I am thrilled to join the global celebration of #IWD2023. “

“This year, our focus is on the theme “Embrace Equity,” as we strive to create a society, a country, and a world that is devoid of preconceptions — a world that appreciates and celebrates the unique attributes and contributions of women.”

“Here in Delta State, through our #ProjectGEST, we have worked to empower a new generation of young women and girls with the skills that they need to be self-sufficient entrepreneurs and employers of labour in their respective communities.”

“As we continue to play our part to accelerate gender parity and inclusion, and gender-mainstreaming in our policies, we will always celebrate the positive impact that the women of Delta State have had in our development!”
