The National Dr¥gs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has reacted to accusations in some quarters that its recruited an underage boy into its employ.
This is coming after a photograph of a new recruit of the agency who looked underage went viral on social media.
The pics, which was taken during the passing out parade of 2,500 NDLEA officers on Thursday, 19th of October, 2023, elicits a lot of backla§hes with many Nigerians g¥nning for the agency.
However, reacting to the backla§h, the agency in a statement on Saturday, 22nd of October, 2023 said:
“The newly trained personnel of the Agency whose photo appears above (arrowed) is not underage as being insinuated since this picture taken during the Passing out Parade of 2,500 Narcotic Agents and Narcotic Assistants on Thursday 19th October 2023 got to the social media space.
The personnel may have small body frame but is indeed qualified in terms of academic and age qualifications required for his cadre, Narcotic Assistant II, which include secondary school certificate and being 18 years of age.
Uncomplimentary comments about his size may be tantamount to body sh@ming.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
