Dangote Group has debunked claims making the round the business world of reducing the price of Cement to N2,700 per 50-kilogramme bag from N5,500.
This was contained in a statement issued issued out by Anthony Chiejine, Spokesperson for Dangote Group on Monday, 25th of September, 2023. Chiejine described the claim as fake news.
“It is fake news”, he said in a terse reply seen by our correspondent.
His reaction comes amid speculation that the Dangote group crashed the cement price by 50 per cent with effect from 1st of October, 2023.
Earlier, freshreporters media had noted the trending reports which was later purported as fake.
However, barely two weeks ago, BUA Cement had hinted at plans to reduce the price of a 50kg bag of cement to between N3,000 and N3,500.
