Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has declared that the recent wave of killings and kidnappings in the South-East are orchestrated by Igbo criminals and not Fulani herdsmen, as widely speculated.
He emphasized that all apprehended suspects in connection with the violence have been of Igbo origin.
Speaking during a press briefing, Soludo described the assailants as cultists, kidnappers, and armed robbers who disguise as freedom fighters to carry out heinous acts.
He dismissed the narrative of an external invasion, noting that the atrocities are internally driven and financially motivated.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to restoring peace in the region.
