Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has shared some of his biggest career regrets as regards artists he wished he had signed but didn’t.
In a candid revelation, the music executive mentioned Simi and Teni as talents he admired early on and wished had joined his label.
He also disclosed that he had the chance to sign Davido but chose not to, believing the singer would thrive with or without his support.
Speaking further, Don Jazzy revealed that he came close to signing Falz but the deal fell through.
Reflecting on these moments, Don Jazzy admitted that while he recognizes exceptional talent, it’s impossible to sign every promising artist in the industry.
He said:
“I like Simi. I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I like Teni. I wish I did. I had the opportunity for Davido, obviously, but I didn’t because I kind of figured that he would be fine. “
“To Wizkid, obviously, I couldn’t because Banky got to him first. That would have been amazing. “
“Falz, I love his work and we almost actually had a deal. Well, it didn’t work out. But then at the end of the day, you cannot sign everybody.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
