“I Took The Baby To Her Grandma” – Woman Accused Of Absconding With A Baby Speaks Out

A lady identified as Chioma, a resident of Gondola at Angwan Rukuba, who was accused of allegedly running away with a baby finally speak out.

Freshreporters had reported that the distraught mother of the missing infant was earlier seeking the public’s assistance in locating her child. READ THE STORY HERE.

However, the accused woman has come out to narrate her side of the story. She insisted that “I took the baby to the grandma.”

She said:

“In a recent incident, I found myself involved in a delicate situation concerning the child’s mother and her marital issues, which frequently led her to seek refuge in my room. Eventually, her clothes and belongings ended up in my room due to her frequent visits.

“On the particular day in question, we had agreed that I would accompany her (the child’s mother) on a trip to visit her mother. As we were preparing to leave, she asked me to go ahead, assuring me that she would join me at the park. Consequently, I took her child with me since the circumstances were sensitive, and I waited for her at the park.

“Unfortunately, heavy rain poured down relentlessly, and the child’s mother wasn’t feeling well at that time. As the rain persisted, she urgently called me, requesting that I proceed without her, and she would meet me with her child the following day.

“To be honest, I was confused about the situation, as my initial intention was to assist this woman as a friend. However, circumstances took an unexpected turn, and she started spreading rumors that I had absconded with her child.

“Apparently, the child’s father was searching for his child, and she feared the consequences because of his known temper. Since she couldn’t bring herself to leave the house, she cunningly pinned the situation on me.

“I want to make it abundantly clear that I am speaking the truth, and the child’s mother is well aware that my intentions were only to offer help as a friend. There are numerous complexities involved in this story that make it difficult for me to elaborate, but I promise that my intentions were pure.
