Former American First Lady, Michelle Obama has opened up about the challenges she and Barack Obama faced early in their relationship. On Wednesday’s episode of the IMO podcast, which she co-hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson, the former First Lady discussed their financial situation when they first started dating.
When Robinson asked, “Would you be attracted to a guy who’s not financially sound when you meet him?” Michelle candidly responded, “Uh, I married one.”
The 61-year-old recalled leaving her corporate law firm after meeting Barack, emphasizing that his unwavering support meant more to her than financial security.
“I had somebody who was like, ‘I got your back. The risks you think you’re taking aren’t that crazy, and I’m here to help you.’”
She explained that this quality mattered more to her than a high income.
“I would rather have that in a partner than someone who simply earns more. I wanted somebody willing to face challenges with me,” she said, acknowledging that it also required her to do the same for him.
Michelle also urged women to look beyond surface-level traits in relationships.
“We shouldn’t assume. You just have to get out there, be honest, and really see people for who they are,” she advised, cautioning that many women focus on superficial qualities instead of deeper compatibility. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
