‘I gave you your first major role, îngrate’, Actress Laide Bakare slams Eniola Badmus

Actress Laide Bakare has responded to fellow actress Eniola Badmus after Badmus made unflattering remarks about a recent photo Bakare shared online.

Taking to Instagram, Bakare called out Badmus, reminding her of the pivotal support she once offered at the start of Badmus’s career.

She claimed she was the first to give Badmus a significant acting opportunity when others refused to cast her because of her looks.

Bakare voiced her dismay over what she saw as a betrayal, condemning Badmus’s comments as deeply ungrateful and going so far as to label her an “animal” in frustration.

Bakare wrote:

“eniola_badmus I gave you, first major role in your life when. No one wants to Associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity. Spent my own hard earned money on an ingrate like you, All you could pay me back with is to call me Animal? Haaa! ENIOLA! Almighty God will judge you insha Allah You have started what you can finish and I promise you, you must collect.”

Before this incident, tensions between the two actresses came to a head during the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film “Owambe Thieves” on April 13, 2025, at Filmhouse Circle Mall in Jakande.

The confrontation began when Eniola Badmus appeared visibly irritated upon seeing Laide Bakare dancing. She promptly distanced herself from the scene, and when Bakare later approached her, Badmus reacted angrily, escalating the situation.
