Hunger, disease killed Over 200 soldiers in training -South Sudan VP Announces

Riek Machar, the Vice President of South Sudan, has announced that diseases, hunger killed over 200 soldiers during their eighteenth training centre.

South Sudan gained her independence in the year 2011 from Sudan country, making it the current world’s youngest nation.

Machar revealed the agony that befell it soldiers at the graduation event of the nation’s new security operatives at the Dr. John Garang Mausoleum in Juba early this week.

He said “Over two hundred of your comrades have died in the eighteen training centres, some died because of disease and no medication, some died because of hunger as food was not available.”

Meanwhile, Thousands of fighters including former rebels from rival camps in South Sudan’s civil war were integrated into the country’s army in a graduation event which was originally scheduled for 2019.
