How My Mum Secretly Planned My Wedding – D’banj Recalls

The legendary Nigerian artist D’banj has talked about how he married his wife, Lineo Didi Kilgrow.

The musician said in a recent appearance on TVC’s Your View that his mother had covertly planned their marriage on the occasion of his father’s birthday celebration.

The 43-year-old stated his mother asked him to bring his fiancée to meet the family and enquired if he was ready for marriage.

The Kokomaster stated at the time that he had imagined a more opulent wedding and was hence not ready for marriage.

It was my mum, she actually planned everything. She told me don’t worry, this is what we are going to do, so my dad’s birthday is July 2nd, so we were going to celebrate his birthday,” he said.

“She told me to bring the girl you are dating, bring her, let’s see her and are you ready to marry her? I said I was ready but I was not ready right now, that I wanted to do a big thing. She said you are going to do that big thing but just bring her for Daddy’s birthday.

“As we finished Daddy’s birthday, they rolled Daddy’s cake and brought out a ‘happy wedding’ cake. The priest was as surprised as I was. And till today I thank her every day for how so far ahead that she saw it and how I see what social media does now.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
