Veteran nollywood Actress, Rita Dominic has revealed that she was silently banned in the Nollywood movie industry.
The actress made this known in a recent interview with Ghanaian host, Lexis Bill, adding that it was the era of video compact discs (VCD) that made her decide to start her own producing company.
When asked by Bill what the biggest challenge of her career is, Rita said:
“I’m just going to mention one. Before I decided to become a producer and co-form the Audrey Silva Company, I was silently banned from the industry by the marketers.
“The marketers were the ones who had the power to call the shots, they were the lords, the mini-gods at the time talking about the VCD era. They banned me silently because I wanted to do things differently, I just felt like it had gotten to a point where if you want to acquire the services of an actor, it’s best to talk to their management.
“I tried to change certain things about my brand because it was becoming very overwhelming for me to be doing my negotiations. I got this manager, who I was working with and who I would always refer them to talk to which didn’t go down well with them.
“It wasn’t a vocal ban and how did I know, the work stopped coming and this is after I had even achieved fame.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
