The Jigawa State, Governor Umar Namadi has suggested that herders may be destroying farmers’ crops as an act of revenge for losing their grazing reserves.
He made the claim while discussing insecurity in the North-West during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program, well monitored by Freshreporters News on Friday, 28th of June, 2024.
Governor Namadi said;
“Deliberate like in form of revenge. The herders felt their cattle route have been taken over, their grazing reserve has been taken over. So because of that they felt this is an injustice and they need to take a revenge.”
