In a shocking incident, the traditional ruler of Nguru community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze James Nnamdi, was brutally shot dead on Monday afternoon.
The gunmen attacked his palace in Mbiase, Imo state, while he was receiving a guest, Chief Ignatius Nwaru.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves throughout the area, instilling fear among the local residents.
Witnesses reported that the attackers stormed the palace at around 3 pm, and Eze Nnamdi, also known as Eze Mmirioma, fell victim to their gunfire.
Following the attack, the guest, Chief Ignatius Nwaru, was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for immediate medical attention.
Meanwhile, the police spokesperson in the state, Henry Okoye, confirmed the killing of the traditional ruler and stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Berde, has ordered a thorough investigation into the murder.
Expressing his condemnation of the heinous act, CP Berde has assembled a high-powered investigative team to ensure that the perpetrators of this ruthless crime are apprehended and brought to justice.
The authorities are determined to uncover the motives behind the attack and take swift action against those responsible.
